Laboratory of Cell Death and Inflammation
The most effective way to treat cancer is to kill cancer cells. Our research focuses on understanding the unexpected consequences of cell death. In particular, we investigate what happens when cell death pathways fail or become dysregulated, and how this can trigger alternative outcomes such as tumour development and activation of immune responses.
Using multidisciplinary experimental approaches, we investigate the molecular, cellular, and organismal consequences of failed or abnormal cell death.
Ultimately, we aim to translate these discoveries into improved therapies for a wide range of human diseases.
